Today's ODB is from John 3 : 22-26, story of John the Baptist.

It quoted the famous Christian writer -Oswald Chambers's book, which reminds us: “Goodness and purity ought never to attract attention to themselves, they ought simply to be magnets to draw to Jesus Christ. A beautiful saint may be a hindrance if he does not present Jesus Christ but only what Christ has done for him; he will leave the impression—‘What a fine character that man is!’—that is not being a true friend of the Bridegroom; I am increasing all the time, He is not.”
Further to a discussion with a few sisters on Sunday, where we talked about how to avoid appearing 'devoted' or 'Godly' on the outside but rather be truly Godly inside our hearts. Today's reading goes further to remind me that even if we are doing goodness, we shall never let it attract attention to ourselves, but to our glorious Lord Himself.
Let's remember to stay behind the scenes!
