August 12, 2006 - To see the Unseen

Today's ODB reading extracted from Jeremiah 32:6-15

The Babylonian armies had Jerusalem surrounded. Resistance was futile. Jeremiah the prophet had already warned the leaders that the city would fall. Now he languished in prison for prophesying the truth. Although puzzled (v.25), Jeremiah trusted God and bought the property (v.9). The Lord assured him that despite the bleak outlook, the people would again own “houses and fields and vineyards” in the land (v.15). 32:27 further states that "Behold, I am the Lord, God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me ?"

Sometimes we would exaggerate our circumstance and fall in the trap that "this is too big for me", "how can I can't solve this problem", "I can't face this person again"... etc. God reassure us that no matter how traumatic the circumstance is, remember : Behold, I am the Lord, your God, there's nothing too difficult for Him, to go through that with you.

The write ends with this quote : All we've seen His provision teaches us to trust Him for what's unseen. What a Great and Mighty God our Father !
